Online Security

The security of your personal information is very important to us. Here are a few things you should know about how we provide online security for our members. For tips on protecting yourself online, visit our Fraud Prevention Center.

Online Banking Access

Personal identification in the form of account number and password is collected when a credit union member has signed-on to Online Banking, the secure online banking area of the credit union’s website. This information allows the credit union to control access to only those entitled to perform transactions and inquiries on the account(s).

Multi-Factor Authentication

Multi-factor authentication provides an added layer of security when you login to your account. After signing in with your username and password, you will be prompted to designate a phone number or email address to receive a verification code. Requiring an additional credential enhances access protection and gives you confidence when banking online or on our Mobile App.

Cookies

To utilize our website, the use of cookies is required. Cookies are very small files that a website sends to the user’s browser for record-keeping purposes. Interior Federal does not store confidential or sensitive information in cookies. In certain applications, such as online banking, cookies are required to help protect the privacy of a member’s transaction. All of our cookies are temporary, which means that they are active only as long as the member’s browser is running and are deleted when the session has ended. Cookies cannot be used to capture a user’s e-mail address, obtain data from the user’s hard drive or gain confidential or sensitive information about the user. Additionally, cookies cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses. Browsers can be set to deliver a message when a cookie is sent, allowing the website user to decide whether to accept or reject the cookie.

E-mail Communications and Online Secure Emails

Personal information transmitted to Interior Federal may be used by credit union staff to respond to inquiries for service or information and/or to improve the service the credit union provides to their members. As all e-mail communications may not be secure against interception by unauthorized individuals, the credit union will not transmit sensitive or personal information that can compromise or violate a member’s privacy while communicating via e-mail. When it is necessary to provide sensitive or personal information, please use our secure chat or secure ticketing support channels from within online and mobile banking:

For Online Banking: login, click on ‘Support’ and then select ‘Secure Chat’ or ‘Secure Email’.

For Mobile Banking: login, tap on ‘More’ and then select ‘Secure Chat’ or Secure Email’.
