Online Security

The security of your personal information is very important to us. Here are a few things you should know about how we provide online security for our members.

For tips on protecting yourself online, visit the Home & Family Consumer Protection Center.

Home Banking Access
Personal identification in the form of account number and password is collected when a credit union member has signed-on to Home Banking, the secure online banking area of the credit union’s website. This information allows the credit union to control access to only those entitled to perform transactions and inquiries on the account(s).
Cookies

To utilize our website, the use of cookies is required. Cookies are very small files that a website sends to the user’s browser for record-keeping purposes. Interior Federal Credit Union does not store confidential or sensitive information in cookies. In certain applications, such as online home banking, cookies are required to help protect the privacy of a member’s transaction. All of our cookies are temporary, which means that they are active only as long as the member’s browser is running and are deleted when the session has ended.

Cookies cannot be used to capture a user’s e-mail address, obtain data from the user’s hard drive or gain confidential or sensitive information about the user. Additionally, cookies cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses. Browsers can be set to deliver a message when a cookie is sent, allowing the website user to decide whether to accept or reject the cookie.

E-mail Communications and Online Secure Emails

Personal information transmitted to Interior Federal Credit Union may be used by credit union staff to respond to inquiries for service or information and/or to improve the service the credit union provides to their members.

As all e-mail communications may not be secure against interception by unauthorized individuals, the credit union will not transmit sensitive or personal information that can compromise or violate a member’s privacy while communicating via e-mail. Similarly, members may wish to utilize alternative communication methods when it is necessary to provide sensitive or personal information.

Online Forms

To better serve the needs of its members, Interior FCU offers several secure online forms.  In an effort to better protect member information, these forms can be completed within the Online Banking Secure Forms tab. Forms available within Online Banking include:

  • Deposit Account Application
  • Check Re-order
  • Address Change Request
  • Debit Card Application
  • Check Copy Request
  • Direct Deposit Application
  • Secured Email Form
  • Stop Payment Request
  • Visa Debit Card Application
  • Visa Balance Transfer Request
  • Wire Transfer Request

Depending upon what type of product or service the user is requesting, by filing the online application the user will be authorizing the credit union to review credit history, employment history and/or other relevant information. This information and any personal information provided by website users from any of the credit union’s online forms is used by IFCU solely to process the user’s request for service.

Securing the Privacy of Personal Information

Interior Federal Credit Union’s website users should use the “secure application” option in home banking to transmit their information via applications and e-mails through the internet. Utilizing this feature, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Encryption is provided. SSL Encryption provides a secure channel for data public key cryptography. If the user is concerned about the security of transmitting any of the credit union’s online forms over the internet, the user is encouraged to submit the information through an alternative resource.
